Business of Birth

J & I watched this documentary last night.  I am never planning on giving birth in a hospital.
It wasn't an exciting movie, but it was informative.
I do recommend it to anyone wanting to have a baby.  Get it on Netflix or the library.
I'm taking names of midwives in the area (I've already chosen who I want as my doula).
No, this is not an announcement.  I'm just thinking ahead.

3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.

But of course, if I were starving (or on Survivor), I'd try it.

I can't believe SHF snuck up on me like that

With the wedding, job stuff and personal stuff, SHF really snuck up on me.
It's next week!  Holy smokes.
drag_on_king and I will be bringing some mead we've recently tapped/bottled.  I also heard chemlabgoddess and her 3 Goddess brewing crew is bringing some as well.  Yum.
It'll be a busy week prepping for SHF.  There are two cronings that I've got to get props and such for, and to make some things too.  (And, in addition to the 2 cronings,  I've got workshops on yoga, villaging for a hunter, and playing a trump role).

Stop yer belliachin' and be grateful already
Because I was bored, I decided to hit "Random Journal" a few times and see what was posted.  There's the celebrity stuff, the religious stuff, the bored-writing stuff (like this), etc.  Some are a bit concerning though.  One was pretty much a diary of how her BMI fluctuated and wanted it down under 20, and it was just hovering there at 20.2.  A totally separate one journaled about what she ate during the day, including her 46 calorie snack.
I do not get it.  Why won't people just accept their bodies already?  I understand working for what you want and trying to be healthy, but some weight control methods are just plain unhealthy.  I think profmurphy said to me once: your body is a gift from the gods.  To say you don't like it is saying that you do not appreciate what you are given.

On "da news"
Most of the people we've spoken to who have known both of us are not surprised at all - several knew before we admitted it to each other that we should be together.  We were kind of slow on figuring it out, but now we're catching up :-)
Not too many were terribly surprised about the "quick" date either.  I have never been more sure of anything in my life.
Now to tell the parents...

Week in review

This weekend's Rendezvous trip was tons of fun.  I will defer to 3stiches' much more thorough post for details.  He did forget to say that he bought me beautiful scented wooden roses.
Last night we went out Scottish dancing.  I'm betting kids would enjoy math more if dancing were involved.  It would have been much more fun had I been able to breath better, but a trip to Walgreen's for some decongestants helped.  Darned allergies.   Banana Boat sunblock was on sale, so that made me think of a banana split, so we took a trip to Culver's.
The rest of the week/weekend will be just as fun.  Tonight is the Wendy Rule concert (for 3stiches' birthday, even though his b-day is Friday). Tomorrow is bingo & Dunn Co Cleric's performance.  Then off to go white water rafting.  I'm hoping there's cell phone reception so that I can say good night to 3stiches while I'm gone for the weekend.

What the best way to prove you are a good Christian?
Burn some (suspected) witches.  Yes, it's still happening.

Schmokes that was busy

A quick run-down of the last several days.  Other then when at work, I got to have 3stitches with me the whole time  :-)

Friday:  Worked. Went to Reiki. Ate at Common Roots (yummy).
Saturday: Camped at Oxbow Zoo with 3stitches' Rendezvous pals.  Learned lots of new stuff (who knew that fur spun so easily into thread?)  Took a nap. Hung out with his cool friends. Drank mead. Slept in the huge canvas tent.
Sunday: Hung out at the zoo some more and saw the dancing porcupine.  Packed up in the early afternoon. Rode back. Helped drag_on_king and a bunch of other people make 32 gallons of mead in my apartment. Went to work #2 for annual training.
Monday: Worked. Polyranger put my dad's family songs onto CDs (my family will be excited). Thanks polyranger.  Then he gave me a wonderfully deep massage.  Ate at Applebee's with 3stitches, but couldn't even start the meal after eating the appetizer.

Tonight is yoga class. Tomorrow is Coffee Cauldron.  Thursday is laundry and grocery shopping day.  Friday I head out to Rendezvous to meet up with 3stitches again for the extended Memorial Day weekend.
